What is Leila?

We are a group of women mechanics who teach bicycle repair skills in an inclusive supportive space. Leila ensures key skills for resourcefulness & independence are accessible to all who wish to learn them, & we specifically support women & the LGBTQ community.

Leila teach mechanics through workshops, courses & in our mobile repair stations. We are currently working on opening a permanent space where everyone can come to fix their bikes, as well as renovate discarded bicycles to create new ones.

Where can you find us?

We currently take our tool box from place to place and teach in community centers, festivals, neighborhood events, etc. Here are some of places we have worked in the past year:

Her Academy - a non-profit organization working to create a safe and accessible learning space for women returning to the work force in Tel Aviv.

Festivals like Festigalgal in Jerusalem and Femi Friday Festival in Tel Aviv.

Community Centers in Tel Aviv-Jaffa region like Shapira, Bitzaron and Neve Sha’anan.
