Tel Aviv was the first city “Israel Bicycle Association” started to work with ׂׂ(at 1995). The goal was to "transform Tel Aviv into Amsterdam”. We aren’t there yet, and there's a lot to be improved such as infrastructure, rental bike projects, driver's awareness to cyclists and the bike culture, but everyday the cyclist's vote with their feet and choose the bike as the main urban transportation.

Tel aviv's bicycle rental project breaks records every month (over than 300,000 trips have been made with the “tel-o-fun” project at october, 2013), those Who still don’t know how to ride a bike, found out that’s it never too late To learn how to ride a bike, experienced cyclists mantor the beginners\ Joining to the organization. there’s goal is to make the project better.

 

The success in tel aviv,Is acted to replicate in other cities and we invite You to join to one of our networks or initiate a new ones.

 

Our agenda for city bike project in 2015:  

- Approval of a bill to “encourage bicycle transportation”in first call. the Bill regulates loading bikes on public transportation, Assimilates safe Bike lanes in the planning, requires parking spots for bicycles and Shower booths in workplaces, Creates a mechanism of economic Incentives for riding to work. the bike bill that we gathered support of 57 Knesset members, of all parties.  

- A standard for bicycle parking.

- Accompanying bicycle projects in 50 cities [at least] with proper Planning. development, events, intervention plans, campaign for Increasing awareness, decreasing conflicts with pedestrians, drivers and Cyclists and more…..

-Expending the rental bike project to another 3 cities ׂׂ(at least).

-Promoting bicycle highways that connect nearby cities.

- Producing urban “bike to work” days.

-Handling with bike thefts.
